The Training and Technical Assistance Professional Credential (T-TAP) is a credentialing process administered by NYSAEYC for professional development providers seeking a T-TAP designation. Trainer Approval serves as a quality assurance process for early childhood trainers. The Trainer Approval process allows professional development providers to demonstrate they have the necessary formal education and experience in early childhood and knowledge of adult learning principles to provide effective professional development experiences.
DESIGNATIONS
Professional Development Specialist (PDS)
The PDS designation is for individuals providing non-credit bearing in-person group professional development on general early childhood and/or school age content.
Coach
The Coach designation is for individuals who provide coaching which is defined as a relationship based process led by an expert with specialized and adult learning knowledge and skills, who often serves in a different professional role than the recipient(s).
Content Specialist (CS)
The CS designation is for individuals who provide non-credit bearing, in-person professional development in their area of expertise that is other than early childhood/school-age content but relevant to quality program.
*Individuals seeking these designations must complete the credentialing process administered by NYSAEYC.
Verified Trainer (VT)
The VT designation is for individuals providing non-credit bearing, face-to-face group training on specific curricula for which they have successfully completed an official train-the-trainer program and has been verified by Aspire.
