The AELC is seeking a new leader!

The Association of Early Learning Coalitions (AELC) is a statewide association committed to promoting access to quality early learning experiences for Florida’s children.  The organization consists of the 30 Executive Directors/ CEOs of Florida’s Early Learning Coalitions (ELC).  The ELCs are responsible for the administration of Florida’s early learning system including the Voluntary Prekindergarten Program and the School Readiness program.  The Association is a statewide champion for early learning values and practices supporting children’s educational success and families’ self-sufficiency.  In total, nearly $1 billion dollars (state and federal revenue) is spent on early learning activities, annually, in Florida.

The AELC is seeking a new leader!  If you are an effective, engaging, knowledgeable individual with experience leading an association, working with a board of directors, and engaging stakeholders and policy makers on issues related to early childhood education, you might just be the one.  As Executive Director of the AELC, you will be expected to provide administrative leadership of all association activities.  This could include anything from organizing monthly AELC face-to-face meetings and conference calls, representing AELC within Florida and throughout the county, and developing policy recommendations to communicating regularly with members and developing positive relationships with policy makers and stakeholders.  An understanding of the legislative process in Florida is required.  A resident of the Tallahassee area or someone willing to relocate is preferred.  Salary commensurate with experience ($95,000+).
